Yunanistan'a oldum olasi merakim vardir; mutfagini, insanini, sarkilarini cok severim. Bu yüzden gecen hafta bir arkadasimla ani bir kararla Kos adasina gitmeye karar verdik. Bunun icin Izmir'den Bodrum'a gidip birkac gün kaldik, Bodrum'un tadini cikardik. Ancak suyun hala soguk oldugundan denize giremedik. Bodrum'dan Kos'a günübirlik gitmek mümkün, ancak dönüsünüzü tabii ki ayri bir güne de alabilirsiniz. Her sabah 09:30'da Bodrum Kalesi'nin oradan feribot kalkiyor, dönüs ise Kos'tan 16:30'da oluyor. Mesafe asagi yukari 1 saat kadar. Günübirlik gitmenin fiyati ise 19€ (diger fiyatlari internetten bulabilirsiniz zaten). Bir aralar vizeye gerek olmadigi söyleniyordu, öyle bir sey yok. Pasaport ve vize kesinlikle sart. Ancak vizesini almak pek de zor olmasa gerek. :)

In Greece I've always been interested; I love its cuisine, its citizen and music! So we spontaneously planned a trip to the Greek island Kos and went there last week! First we spent a few days in Bodrum and explored its beautiful beaches. From Bodrum there are daily ferries to Kos, which offer day trips, too. It takes about 1 hour to get there and a round-trip ticket (at the same day) costs 19€, but of course you can book your return for another day, too. The ferry leaves at 09:30 from Bodrum Castle, and returns at 16:30 from Kos. I just loved how easy it was to get there and see two different beautiful places like Bodrum and Kos within the same trip. :)

Bu yazi rehber niteliginde olmayacak, bunu önceden belirteyim - bunlardan nette istemediginiz kadar var zaten :). Ben sizlerle sadece izlenimlerimi ve düsüncelerimi paylasmak ve size bir fikir sunmak istiyorum. Bakis acimla Yunanistan'i görün istiyorum. Gelin, sizi ekranlarinizin karsisinda kücük bir gezintiye cikariyim, ela elaa!..

Firstly, I want to clarify that I don't intend to write a post which will be a travel guide for Kos (there are countless guides on the internet you can find!). I just want to share my impressions and thoughts with you about the island and maybe be an inspiration for you. I want you to see Greece with my point of view. Alright, let's go for a little trip in front of our displays, ela elaa!..

Kos'a gelir gelmez bizi Yunan sarkilari karsiladi. Öyle huzur verici ve neseli ki ayni zamanda, kendimi "evde" hissettim bir anda - Türk kültüründen pek de uzak degiller cünkü. :) Hemen etrafi kesfetmek icin yola koyulduk. Ben tur vs. sevmiyorum, bu yüzden hep bir anlik kararla biletimi alip giderim bir yerlere ve kendim kesfederim. Bu sekilde kendimi daha özgür ve bagimsiz hissediyorum, istedigim yere gidebiliyorum. Kos'u siz de bir tura katilmadan kendiniz gezebilirsiniz, ama altinizda bir araba varsa cok daha rahat olur. Yoksa da ulasim amacli rahatlikla otobüsleri kullanabilirsiniz. Bizim elimizde harita bile yoktu, internetimiz adaya varir varmaz kesildi zaten (Türk hatti oldugundan). Yani kisacasi bir sekilde kendi kendimizi idare etmeliydik, ama bu hic de zor olmadi. Bildigimiz birkac kelime Yunanca'yla gönülleri fethettik, devaminda Ingilizce konusarak anlastik. :)

When we arrived on Kos, we noticed Greek songs playing in the background which made us smile. In this moment I felt home somehow- the Greek culture is not far from the Turkish culture, maybe that was the reason for feeling home. :) Immediately we headed to explore the island! I really don't like tours or guides, this way I feel captured. I love exploring places on my own and exactly that was what we did - best choice! In order to do that you can rent a car or just use the buses around. I can recommend you to explore the island on your own without a guide, it's more exciting I think! And you really don't have to hesitate, they all speak fluently English. We conquered the hearts of the citizen with the few Greek words we knew and further communicated in English. This worked great! :)

Liman boyu yürüyüs yapabilir, biraz o Yunan havasini icinize cekebilirsiniz. Bizim gittigimiz sira Yunanlarin Paskalya Bayrami'ymis, dolayisiyla sokaklar bombostu, dükkanlar kapaliydi. Ada adeta bizimdi! Böylece gezmesi cok daha keyifli oldu, kalabaliktan gürültüden uzak adayi daha iyi kesfedebildik.

You can go for a walk at the port and soak up some Greek air! :) The time when we have been on Kos, fortunately was the time when they had Easter. So it was very calm and the shops were closed. Actually the streets were empty at all and we had the whole island almost for us! Jackpot! :)

Limandan bir ara sokaga saptik ve inanilmaz güzel bir sokak cikti karsimiza! Tipik Yunan stilinde, mavili beyazli evler, ahsap sandalyeler, tavernalar. O an gercekten "iste simdi Yunanistan'dayiz!" dedim. Sanirim bende beyaz-mavi takintisi var, Instagram hesabimdan da anlamissinizdir. :)

Near the port we found a street full with the blue and white! I am really obsessed with these colors - as you know from my Instagram feed :P. When I saw the blue white houses, the wooden chairs and tavernas I thought "yes, NOW we are in Greece!" 

Cok yürüyeceginiz icin rahat ayakkabilar tercih edin derim, zira aksi takdirde cekilmez olacaktir. Benim ada icin tercihim Manebi'nin espadrilleri oldu. Hem şık, hem rahat!

By the way, take comfortable shoes with you, 'cause you will be walking all day long. I've chosen my espadrilles from Manebi. These are stylish and comfy at the same time! 

Kos'un merkezinde bulunan Agia Paraskevi kilisesini görmeniz lazim! Stiliyle tipik bir ortodoks kilisesidir ve sizce de muazzam görünmüyor mu? Ben büyülendim ve dakikalarca inceledim.

Actually you have to see the Agia Paraskevi Church at the centre of Kos. It's a Greek Orthodox Church, doesn't it look amazing? I was flashed by its colors and style!

Kilisenin bulundugu sokagin ilerisinde bir cami bulunuyor. Caminin güzelligine, sadeligine bakar misiniz? Öylesine duru... bir an durdum ve düsündüm - neden bu din tartismalari? Bakin, burada ortodokslar ve müslümanlar ayni yerde birlikte yasiyorlar, ibadethaneleri yan yana. Ve her sey yolunda. Herkes kendi isine bakiyor. Huzur var. Yani kisaca her seye karismayi birakin ve gereksiz müdahale etmeyin. Insanlara istedikleri gibi yasamalarina izin verin. Istedikleri gibi sevmelerine izin verin. Ve her sey güzel olacak, kesinlikle!

Down the street, not far from the church, there is the Mosque of Kos. For a minute I thought about life and the whole globe - why all the religion crisis? Look, here Orthodoxians and Muslims live together, their houses of prayer stand next to each other. Everything is fine. Everyone does his own thing. So stop always interfering in the business of others and let live. Let love. And everything will be fine, definitely!

Kilisenin cok yakinlarinda, o cevrede, harika bir hediyelik dükkan kesfettik. Aslinda yolu sormak icin girmistik, öylesine sicak karsilandik ki oranin yerlisi ve dükkanin sahibi olan Houssein Bey ile sohbet etme firsatimiz oldu. O kadar samimi bir insan ki, gercekten tanimalisiniz! Bize oralari anlatti, birkac insider tüyosu verdi. Böylece oranin yerlileri hakkinda da harika bir tecrübe kazanmis olduk. Sicak kanli, samimi ve dogallar. Kos'a giderseniz Sema Gift Shop'a kesinlikle ugrayin derim ve benim selamimi söyleyin, adaya dair bir ani olacak harika hediyelik esyalar satiyor. :)

Close to the church we discovered a gift shop named Sema Gift Shop, which was open. So we had a chance to talk to someone who lives on the island and to get to know its citizen closer. Houssein, the owner of the shop is such a friendly guy! He told us a little about the island and we got to know some insider tips. :) Really, the Greeks are just so adorable! And by the way, he is selling beautiful souvenirs, just drop over when you are on Kos!

Ah Yunanistan... icime isliyorsun! Öylesine güzelsin ki, izlemeye, her sokagina dalmaya, insanlari "yasu" ile selamlamaya, "yamas" diye kadeh kaldirmaya doyamiyorum... Seviyorum seni.

Oh Greece... you have my heart! You are just so gorgeous, I can't get enough of watching you, of being lost in your sparkling streets, of greeting people with "yasu" and toast with "yamas"... I honestly love you.

Kos'un harika plajlari var, hatta bizim Türkiye'deki gibi beach club tarzinda olmalari dikkat cekmiyor degil. Henüz sezonun acilmamis olmasi ve denizin serinligi dolayisiyla plajlar bostu. Yani bostan kastim denize pek giren yoktu, ancak plajda güneslenenler, taze sıkılmıs portakal suyu icenler (evet, o benim) haliyle bu güzel görüntüyü kacirmamak icin kendilerini plajlara atmislar. :) Yaz tatili icin kesinlikle tercih edilebilir burasi. Denizi tertemiz, masmavi ve kumlu. Ben deniz asigi olarak burayi da cok sevdim!

Kos has amazing beaches! When I've been there the sea was still a little too cold for me to jump in. But there were people who just did! Because of its clean, deep blue beaches, I can imagine that Kos will be a great holiday destination in summer! I loved it!

Ve kücük bir giyim fikri: marine look. Ben bu kombini adaya cok yakistirdim. Gömlek Zara, kot sort Pull&Bear, espadriller Manebi, saat Kapten&Son, son olarak da bileklik Frankly My Dear Store. Sizce nasil olmus?

And a little fashion inspo: marine look. I think this combination fits totally to the island. Zara blouse, Pull&Bear shorts, Manebi espadrilles, Kapten&Son watch and Frankly My Dear Store cuff. How do you like my outfit?

Hope I could take you on a little trip with this post. I must honestly say that the island is far more beautiful than on the photos! I really liked Kos and can't wait to get there one day again!
