Exploring Kaş with Hotel Cachet

Merhabalar! Su an otelde, odamin balkonunda oturuyorum ve ayaklarimi özel havuzumuzda sallandiriyorum. Kas'in sicagina sanirim ancak bu sekilde dayanabilirim!  Bu yazimda sizlere burada gecirdigim günlerden bahsetmek ve konaklamaya iliskin en iyi alternatiften bahsetmek istiyorum! Ayrica sonuna kadar okursaniz size bir sürprizim olacak. :-)

Hello everyone! Currently I'm sitting at our private pool at the hotel and let my feet dangle in the water - think that is the perfect refreshment! It is so hot over here in Kas, that this is the only way I can resist it!  In today's post I want to talk about my trip and show you our accommodation we stayed at during the Kas trip. And there will be a special surprise for you in this post, so stay tuned! :-)

Öncelikle Kas hakkinda birkac genel bilgi vermek gerekirse, Antalya'nin en batisinda yer alan bir ilcedir. Sakin ve bol dinlenmeli bir tatil yapmak isteyenler icin sanirim burasi en iyi seceneklerden biri olacaktir. Üstelik pasaportunuz varsa yan komsumuz olan Yunan adasi Meis'e de ugrayabilirsiniz. Kas'a ulasim iki sekilde saglanabilir, ucakla gelecekseniz ya Antalya Havalimanina ya da Dalaman Havalimanina inebilir, oradan otobüsle veya kiralik aracla Kas'a gecebilirsiniz. Havalimanindan Kas'a gitmesi yaklasik 3-4 saat sürüyor. Izmir'den Dalaman'a sadece aktarmali ucus bulundugu icin ben aktarmasiz oldugundan Antalya Havalimanini tercih ettim ve Bati Antalya Tur'un otobüsü ile Kas'a gectim.

First of all some general information about Kas: Kas is a district of Antalya and is about 200 km west from the city center. For those who want to go on serene holidays with much relaxing time, Kas may be one of the best alternatives I think. Additionally you can visit the neighbour Greek island Kastelorizo, there are daily ferries to the island. How to get to Kas? You can take a flight to Antalya Airport or Dalaman Airport, but the Dalaman Airport is a little closer. From the airport you can take a bus to Kas or just rent a car. It takes about 3-4 hours to get there by car or bus. I have taken the bus from Bati Antalya Tur.

Kas'taki günlerimi, yarimadanin en güzel yerinde bulunan Hotel Cachet'te gecirdim. Otele varir varmaz Fikri Bey beni karsiladi ve soguk bir seyler ikram etti - bu sicak günlerde derdimize derman daha ne olabilir ki? :-) Otelin restaurantinin terasinda icecegimi yudumlarken muazzam manzaranin keyfini cikarmaya basladim bile. Ilk gözüme ilisen sey tam karsimizda yer alan Meis adasi ve denizin o muhtesem mavisi oldu. 

I spent my days in the most beautiful area of the peninsula: Hotel Cachet. When we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed very warmly by Fikri. He offered us a cold drink and we got to the terrace of the hotel's restaurant. While sipping my drink I really enjoyed the amazing view. The island in front of me, the ocean blue... life was perfect for this moment!

Biz Island Room 2'de kaldik. Odayi gördügüm an "ben buradan hic gitmek istemem" diye düsündügümü hatirliyorum . Odanin balkonunda özel isitmali spa havuzu, sezlonglar, armutlar, semsiye, masa ve sandalyeler bulunuyor. Yine Meis adasi tüm ihtisamiyla karsimda duruyordu. Balkondan birkac basamakli merdiveni ciktiktan sonra sürgülü cam kapiyi aralayip iceri girdim - ilk yaptigim sey perdeleri tamamen acmak oldu ki odadan da o manzarayi tamamen seyredebileyim.

We stayed at the Island Room 2. When I have seen the room for the first time I was just like "omg, I never want to leave". On the balcony there is a heated private pool, sunbeds, beanbags, parasols, chairs and a table. From our balcony we had such a great view on the sea and the island, I totally enjoyed it. 

Odada genis bir kralice yatak ve harika bir banyo yer aliyor. Asiri titiz bir insan oldugum icin odanin temizligi benim icin otellerde en dikkat ettigim husustur. Bu odada temizlige iliskin hicbir kusur bulamadigim icin cok sevindim ve tatilim harika baslamis oldu. Ayrica odada cay ve kahve, bunlari yapabilmeniz icin de kettle bulunuyor. Minibar, tv, klima ve internet de mevcut. Valizimdeki esyalari dolaba yerlestirdikten sonra benim icin tatil basladi!

The room is equipped with a queen size bed and a clean white bathroom. I was absolutely happy to see that everything was clean and neat - I think that is the most important aspect in hotels. In the room there are also different tea types and coffee for self-service and also a water kettle. A minibar, a flat screen tv, an air conditioner (must-have for hot summer days) and free wi-fi are included.

Etrafi kesfetmek icin disari ciktim ve oteli biraz gezdim. Odamizdan ciktigimda ilk olarak denize dogru inen upuzuun bir merdiven gördüm. Asagida da sezlonglar bulunuyor, ayrica asagi kadar inerseniz kayalarin üstüne cikabilirsiniz. Bence burasi fotograf cekmek ve manzarayi seyretmek icin harika bir yer. Biz orada oturup dalgalarin sesini dinledik, o ani hafizamizin en derinine kazidik. Otelin acik havuzunu veya odalardaki özel havuzu tercih etmeyenler icin deniz imkani da var ayrica burada. Ben denize girmeyi daha cok sevdigimden kayalarin ordaki merdivenden denize indim ve kendimi mavilere biraktim. Ancak yüzme bilmeyenler bunu yapmasin, cünkü su derin ve dalgali. Bilenler icinse essiz bir deneyim olacaktir, zira o manzarada yüzmek öyle keyifli geldi ki bana! Ayrica koca deniz sadece bana aitti o an, transit gecen birkac tekne disinda. :-)

In order to explore the hotel I left the room and went the steep stairs down to the sea. While going down I discovered a place with sunbeds there. If you go down to the end of the stairs you come to the shore. The rocks are perfect for shooting and relaxing I think. We sat down and enjoyed the sound of the waves and the view. That was one of the moments I will never forget! If you like floating in the sea as I do, you can jump in into the sea, too! But be careful, the sea is deep and rough. For me it was such a great experience, in this moment I had the whole sea for me alone! :-)

Alternatif olarak acik havuzu da kullanabilirsiniz. Havuz alaninin en sevdigim yani yine manzarasi oldu! Ister sezlonglarda güneslenin, ister havuzda ferahlayin, her türlü deniz manzarasi karsinizda ve bu benim cok hosuma gitti. Burasi bence cennetin bir kösesi, tam ruhu dinlendirmelik. Fikri Bey de bunu belirtmisti:

"Bizim icin oteli doldurmak degil önemli olan. Önceligimiz misafirlerimizin konforu, burada iyi hissetmeleri! Bütün misafirlerimizle birebir ilgilenmeyi, onlari tanimayi, onlarin da bizi tanimasini isteriz."

Bu isi tutkuyla yaptiklarina ve söylediginin lafta kalmadigina ben bizzat sahit oldum. Burada ses gürültü yok, problem veya sıkıntı hicbir sekilde yaniniza ugramiyor. Otel personeli ise öylesine güleryüzlü ve ilgili ki, kendinizi hicbir sekilde yabanci hissetmiyorsunuz burada. Acikcasi ben ilk kez geliyormus gibi hissetmedim kendimi, sanki her yazimi burada geciriyormusum gibi bir his uyandirdi bende - öylesine sicak ve samimi. Bu hissi daha önce hicbir otelde yasamadim, yani otel odalari bana her zaman soguk gelmistir. Ancak burada gercekten evimdeymisim gibi hissettim ve ilk andan itibaren "buraya kesin tekrar gelecegim" diye düsündüm. Üstelik otel personelinin sicak yaklasimi, ikramlari, güleryüzleri beni cok memnun etti. Iyi ki gelmisim de böylesine harika insanlar tanima firsati yakalamisim dedim!

Alternatively you can use the outdoor pool of the hotel as well. The sea view was definitely my favorite in the pool area! No matter whether you are sunbathing on the sunbeds or refreshing in the pool - you always have that overwhelming view in front of your eyes. This place is just a corner of paradise, absolutely a place where you can relax your soul. Fikri mentioned that as well:

"For us, filling the rooms is not that important. Our priority is the comfort of our guests and that they feel well here! We aim for paying attention to our guests, for getting to know them, for letting them to know us."

During my stay in Hotel Cachet, I could see how these phrases came true. Fikri and the whole staff do their job with passion. In this hotel there is neither noise nor problems, it's really serene and you can relax permanently. The whole hotel staff was always so friendly to us, we really enjoyed to talk to each other. This kindness made me feel home somehow, I absolutely didn't feel foreign here. It felt like I had been here once before, like I had spent my whole summer holidays in this hotel - but it was the first time for me! Normally I don't like hotel rooms, for me they are so cold and don't have soul in them. But in this hotel the staff welcomed us so warmly and cared about us during the whole stay that I felt home from the first minute! The only thing I thought was "I will certainly come back again!"

Buraya gelecekseniz yemek konusunda da hic tereddütünüz olmasin. Kahvalti genis bir acik büfe halinde sunuluyor ve istemediginiz kadar cesit mevcut - kesinlikle ac kalmazsiniz . Cesit cesit receller, peynirler, zeytin, taze domates, salatalik, meyveler, ve daha fazlasi. Tek sorununuz bütün bunlarin kahvalti tabagina sigip sigmayacagi olacaktir, öylesine genis secenek sunuluyor. :) En sevdigi ögün kahvalti olan benim icin günün en keyifli kismiydi bu, ne yalan söyleyeyim. Üstelik restaurant terasinda da yine muazzam bir manzaraya karsi kahvalti yapmak da paha bicilemez!

Also you don't have to worry about the food! The breakfast buffet was rich and fresh, it offered everything imaginable from various jams up to different sorts of cheese, from fresh vegetables and fruits up to tasty biscuits, from cereal up to freshly baked goods. The only thing you have to worry about is, whether you can place all these tasty food entire on your plate!Everything was prepared in an absolutely tasty and delicate way. For me, breakfast is the most important meal, so each morning I enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace with that great view over the sea!

Aksam yemegimiz A La Carte'ti. Sefin ellerine saglik, yemekler gercekten nefisti. Hatta her Cumartesi deniz mahsülleri gecesi oluyormus, iyi ki buna denk geldik! Eger gidecek olursaniz size de mutlaka Cumartesi'ye denk getirmenizi tavsiye ederim, bu tatlari kacirmanizi istemem. Biz secimi Fikri Bey'e biraktik ve masamiza nefis baliklar geldi. Servis ise yine güzeldi, personel cok ilgiliydi ve sık sık bir seye ihtiyacimiz olup olmadigi soruldu. Panoramik deniz manzarasina karsi los isikta yemek diyorum, baska bir sey demiyorum!

In the evening, we had an à la carte dinner in the hotel's restaurant, it was always so tasty! By the way, on Saturdays they have a special evening and offer seafood dishes. We trusted Fikri with the choice and were served absolutely delicate prepared fish and some other seafood. I liked the table setting and once again - the sea view! And also the staff in the restaurant was super friendly and they asked us occasionally whether we need something or not. Having dinner with a panoramic sea view - it couldn't have been better!

Bizim icin bu otelden cikmak ne kadar zor oldu ise de Kas'in simgesi olan Kaputas Plajina ugramadan dönmek istemedik. Merkezde bulunan otogardan gün icinde sıkca Kaputas'a otobüsler kalkiyor ve yolculuk yaklasik 20 dakika sürüyor, isterseniz taksiyle de gidebilirsiniz direkt otelden. Plaj, iki yüksek kaya duvarlar arasinda yer aliyor ve denizi mavinin her tonunu icerisinde barindiriyor. Bana göre Akdeniz'in en güzel plajidir Kaputas ve kesinlikle görülmeye deger! Altin rengi kum-cakil karisimi plaji ve o turkuaz-mavi denizi essiz bir tatil anisi oldu bizim icin.

Even though it was so hard for us leaving the beautiful hotel, we didn't want to leave Kas without seeing the Kaputas Beach. Kas is popular for its beaches, so if you ever come over here you have to visit Kaputas Beach! It takes about 20 minutes from Kas center to get there, you can take the taxi or the bus. The beach is located at a point where a narrow valley towered by steep cliffs. Due to its untouched natural beauty and the turquoise-blue sea it is quite popular among visitors to the region. Definitely worth seeing it!

Buradaki günlerimin tadini öylesine cikardim ki artik gitme vakti geldiginde hüzünlenmedim degil. Sık sık seyahat ettigim icin evimi de özlüyorum haliyle, ancak bu otel bana evimi aratmadi desem yeridir. Rahatlik ve samimiyet ev sahibiymisim gibi, ilgi ve konfor ise misafire gösterilir sekildeydi! Dolayisiyla Hotel Cachet'yi ve harika personelini özleyecegim de bir gercek! Kas'a sirf bu otel icin bile gidilir bence, ciddiyim. Bu harika manzaranin tadini cikarmak, bolca dinlenmek, günesi teninizle birlestirmek, gün dogumlari ve gün batimlari biriktirmek isteyenler pusulasini bu otele dogru, güneye cevirsin simdi. Hotel Cachet'yi gönül rahatligiyla tavsiye edebilirim, benim beklentilerimin kesinlikle üstünde cikti! Bizi en iyi sekilde misafir ettikleri, ilgileri ve alakalari icin Fikri Bey basta olmak üzere, Demet Hanim ve bütün otel personeline buradan tekrar tesekkür ederiz! I enjoyed my time here in Kas to the fullest that I was a little sad about the return trip. Due to the fact that I am travelling often, I normally miss my home too of course. But this hotel was just so amazing that I didn't want to leave - who would? I definitely will miss the whole staff and my Island Room! I can say with a clear conscience that it is worth to come over to Kas even for this hotel. Those who want to enjoy a unique sea view, to relax in the sun, to collect sunrises and sunsets, now shall turn their compass towards Kas! I can absolutely recommend Hotel Cachet - it has exceeded all my expectations and I have enjoyed my time to the fullest! Many thanks to Fikri, Demet and the whole hotel staff for being always so kind and helpful! One day I will certainly come back! :-)
