Gercekten bloggerlarin hayati cok mu tozpembe? Markalar tarafindan gönderilen hediyeler icinde mi boguluyorlar? Oturduklari yerden mi para kazaniyorlar? Hayatlarinin büyük kismini gezmekle ve özellikle deniz kenarinda mi geciriyorlar? Sorular sorular... Bu yazimda, bloggerlar hakkinda bilinen yanlislara ve belki siz tarafindan merak edilenlere bir aydinlik getirmek istiyorum. Do bloggers really have that perfect life? Are they flooded with thousands of gifts by brands? Do they earn their money by just sitting at home? Are they mostly traveling around the world and relaxing by the ocean? Lots of questions... In this post, I want to answer all these questions and provide you an insight into the #bloggerlife! :-)

"Markalar tarafindan hediye yagmuruna tutuluyorlar."

Bu düsüncenin hicbir zaman aklinizin ucundan dahi gecmedigini iddia ederseniz, söylediginizden tereddüt ederim. Beni veya diger bloggerlari takip ediyorsaniz, muhakkak markalarla/sponsorlarla isbirligi icerisinde oldugumuzu fark etmissinizdir. Su an sadece kendimden yola cikacak olursam, ben her marka isbirligini net bir sekilde belirtiyorum, bu konuda seffafim. Blog yazilarimda olsun, Instagram fotograflarimda olsun, illa ki isbirligidir (IG: #ad) diye etiketlemisimdir. Ama bunu yapmayabilirdim de - bloggerlarin bir kismi gibi. Ancak bu benim ilkelerime tamamen aykiri olurdu. Evet, markalar bloggerlara ürün göndermek istiyor, evet bu su anda büyük bir pazarlama stratejisi. Ancak is dünyasinda hicbir seyin "hediye" olmadigini bilecek veya tahmin edecek yastasinizdir diye umuyorum. Birinden cikar saglayacaginizi bilirseniz, onunla calismak istersiniz; marka ve blogger iliskisi de böyledir iste. Bir marka, bir bloggera ürün gönderiyorsa onu cok sevdiginden veya babasinin oglu oldugundan degil, onun fikir ve hizmetinden faydalanmak ve kitlesine ulasmak istedigindendir - bu gayet normal bir seydir, zira her iki taraf da birbirinin hizmetinden faydalanabilecek bu isbirliginde. Peki blogger, kitlesini nasil olusturdu? Siz sebepsiz yere hic birini takip ettiniz mi? Güvendiniz mi tavsiyelerine körü körüne? Umarim cevabiniz HAYIRdir. Blog yazmak büyük emek, disiplin ve yaraticilik demektir, kitleyi olusturmak büyük sabir, o kitlenin size güvenmesini saglamak ise karakter demektir. Birinin ne kadar gercek veya yalan oldugunu anlamak cok da zor degil. Bir de sunu belirtmek istiyorum, örnegin sizin 2 dakikada okuyup bitirdiginiz yazi icin ben cekimlerle birlikte bazen 4-5 saatimi, bazen 9 saatimi, bazen 12 saatimi veriyorum, yazinin kapsamina göre degisir. Ama bütün bunlari elbette severek yapiyorum. Ben bebegim olarak gördügüm bu blogu tek basima olusturdum, sizlerle büyütüyorum. 3 yildir hic sikilmadan zaman ve emek sarfettim buraya. Simdi sorgusuz sualsiz tüm markalarin gelip benim emekle olusturdugum kitleye tek bir hamleyle ulasmasina izin veremem elbette. En basta bu kendime saygisizlik olur. Kisisel menfaatim ne olursa olsun bu durumdan, eger ben o markanin kisiliginden veya gönderdigi ürünlerden memnun degilsem, burada asla yeri olamaz. Ama kendim de memnunsam ve sizin icin de güzel bir tavsiye olacaksa neden olmasin ki? Neden size marka tarafindan gönderilen "satin almadigim" bir ürünü göstermekten cekineyim? Ne de olsa belirtiyorum. Ben hicbir problem görmüyorum bunda. "Satin almadigim"i tirnak icinde yaziyorum, cünkü aslinda emegimle satin almis oluyorum. Degerler sadece parayla ölcülmüyor. Parayla satin alinan ürünü ben zamanimla satin almis oluyorum bir nevi. Evet, isbirliklerini net bir sekilde belirttigim ve bu konuda seffaf oldugum icin "hediye yagmuruna tutuluyor" düsüncesi belki biraz daha baskin oluyordur, isbirliklerini belirtmeyenlere nazaran. Ama sorun degil, sizi ve kendimi kandirmaktansa, "hediye yagmuruna tutuluyor" iddiasini yeglerim. Cünkü aynaya baktigimda hala kendimi görmek istiyorum. :-)

"Bloggers are flooded with gifts by brands."

I am almost sure that many of you have wondered about this. If you are following me or any other bloggers, you know that we are collaborating with brands. I am always mentioning whenever it is a sponsored blog post (on IG with the tag #ad). But this is not a must - so many other bloggers don't mark sponsored posts at all. Not marking them would definitely go against my principles, so in order to remain true to them, I always do. Now back to the question: Yes, brands want to send their products to bloggers - this is nowadays the greatest marketing strategy. I assume you know that the ulterior motive of gifting bloggers with products is business, not to make them happy! In business life, you only collaborate with people you'll benefit from. So don't think that brands are gifting bloggers just to make them happy. They want to use the service the blogger provides and benefit from the blogger's reach - and that's absolutely understandable. But how did the bloggers build up their reach? Have you ever followed someone without any reason? Did you trust in everything the blogger tells you? I hope your answer is NO. A blog is not only a website - it is filled with a lot of work, discipline and creativity. For building up a great community, you need an abundance of patience, and if you want your followers to trust you, you need to be loyal and transparent to them. This definitely costs a lot of time and work. My blog is my baby which I have created on my own and built up with you. So I am really particular in this case and only pick and choose brands that seem to be worth it. And I don't see anything wrong with it to show sponsored products which I REALLY LIKE (+ I mark sponsored posts always). Nevertheless the products the bloggers get are not a gift at all. Since values are not only measured by money, we can admit that bloggers have to pay the products with their time and work. I really have a clear conscience since I am marking every sponsored post. So it doesn't bother me if you think that I am flooded with gifts by brands, I prefer this over deceiving you and myself. Because I still want to be able to look into the mirror. :-)

"Bloggerlar lüks icinde harika bir hayat sürdürüyorlar."

Ben bu cümleye binlerce kez sahit oldum - ancak ne asli var ne astari. :D Gerci "lüks" kisiden kisiye degisen bir kavram, öyle ele alirsak evet lüks icinde yasiyorum, zira saglikliyim cok sükür - ve saglik, dünyadaki en büyük lükstür bana göre. Ama kastedilene dönersek, maddiyatla ölcülen lüksten bahsediliyor bu durumda genellikle. Hem kendim icin söylüyorum, hem diger bütün bloggerlar icin: o "mükemmel" görünen yasama sadece fotograflarla tanik oluyorsunuz. Ve düsünürsek, o fotograf 24 saatin sadece 1 anini yansitiyor. O fotograflarin toplami da tabii mükemmel bir hayat görünümü veriyor. Ve bu düsünce cok yanlis: mükemmel hayat degil, mükemmel anlar diyelim ona. Cünkü herkes kendi karar veriyor neyi paylasip neyi paylasmayacagina. Kimse en sinirli anini, en cirkin halini, en berbat gününü, en gicik oldugu kisiyi fotograflayip paylasmiyordur herhalde. Sevdikleriyle gecirdikleri en güzel anlarin fotograflaridir büyük bir cogunlukla paylasilanlar - veya en ilginc, en siradisi, olaganüstü anlardir. Dünyayla paylasacak cok seyi oldugu icin bloggerdir zaten o kisi. Yaptiklariyla, deneyimledikleriyle ilham olmak istiyordur. Ben de öyle. Size olabildigince pozitif enerji asilamak istiyorum, bu yüzden negatif seylere yer vermiyorum. Ancak birinin, toplumun büyük cogunlugundan biraz daha farkli bir hayati olmasi, bu hayatin mükemmel oldugu anlamina gelmez. Benim de kötü günlerim oluyor elbette - ama bunlari paylasmak kimseye katki saglamayacak. :-)

"They live that perfect luxury life."

I have heard this phrase so often - but that is not a true fact at all. :D But in effect, the definition of "luxury" changes from person to person - so I can say that I am living a luxury life since I am healthy - and for me, health is the greatest luxury on earth. Nevertheless the phrase "bloggers live a perfect luxury life" has another meaning, I know - materiality. But how can you be sure that a life is perfect and luxury by only seeing some pictures which capture just a few moments? A day has 24 hours and you only see just one moment of it - so it is really hard to say whether that person has a luxury perfect life or not. Of course you can follow the blogger’s day on Snapchat or Instagram Story moment to moment, but in fact everyone decides about what he or she will and won’t publish. The vast majority only shares happy and amazing moments - so you don’t see a perfect life, but perfect moments. And by the way, a blogger is a person who has so much creativity and desire to try out always new things and inspire people. So he or she definitely has extraordinary things to share - that makes a blogger. That’s also my intention: to inspire people with the things I do and to give them positive vibes on my blog and social media channels. But that doesn’t mean that my life is all perfect. I have bad days too of course - but those moments have not to be exclusively published on the internet I think. :-)

"Oturduklari yerden para kazaniyorlar."

Hemen belirteyim, her blogger para kazanmiyor blogu üzerinden. Kazananlar da oturdugu yerden kazanmiyor. Anlayacaginiz hobi olarak yazanlar var, bu hobiyi meslege dönüstürenler de var. Bu cok basit bir sey degil, hatta oldukca zor diyebiliriz. Her bloggerda bu yol farkli olacagi icin, ben kendimden yola cikayim: blogu actigimda tek bir amacim vardi, o da fikirlerimi ve deneyimlerimi paylasmak, cümlelerimle insanlara ulasmak, yazmak, cizmek, yaratmak... Bu benim karakterim, icimde her zaman o yaratici yönüm baskin oldu. Ve bir gün icimden tastigini fark edince klavyenin basina gecip bu blogu actim. Hicbir sekilde para kazanayim, menfaat saglayayim, bir milyon takipcim olsun falan gecmedi aklimdan. Ben ilk 10 takipcim oldugunda havalara uctum, beni okuyan birkac kisi oldugu icin. Günün birinde 120 bin takipcim olacagini tahmin bile edemezdim 3 yil önce bu blogu actigimda. Ve simdi buradayiz, kocaman bir aile olarak (beni okuyan o ilk 10 kisi de hala buradalar mi merak ediyorum dogrusu). :-) Neyse, tabii o zamanlar sadece hobi olarak yaziyordum. Simdiyse kendi imkanlarimla kurdugum bir isletmeye sahibim. Bunu henüz ögrenciyken yapabildigim icin ve hobi olarak baslatip severek yaptigim bu isi "meslek" haline getirebildigim icin mutluyum. Ayni zamanda hala üniversite ögrencisiyim, onu da birakmadim. Isin özüne dönecek olursak, hicbir isletme kendi kendine islemiyor. Dolayisiyla ne ben "oturdugum yerden" para kazaniyorum, ne bir baskasi. Size bir günümün aslinda nasil gectigini anlatsam, bloga, Instagram'a ve Snapchat'e yansitmadiklarimi göstersem agziniz hafif acik kalabilir. :D Buna simdi burada yogunlasmayayim, bu konu ilginizi cekiyorsa, yorum olarak belirtebilirsiniz. Belki ayri bir blog yazisinda EYLEVANT'in perde arkasini gösterebilirim. :-)

"Bloggers earn their money by just sitting at home."

Right at the beginning I want to mention that not every blogger earns money with blogging. And the ones who do, don’t earn it by just sitting at home. So as you understand, there are the ones who do it just for fun and as a hobby, and the others that have become self-employed and freelancers. But becoming self-employed with blogging is not that easy, it’s rather a hard way. Since this aspect will change from blogger to blogger, I want to talk about my own experiences. When I created this blog, my intention was to reach people with my words, to inspire them with my ideas and doings, to write, to express myself, to create… I never thought on earning money with blogging and on benefiting from. I could never ever imagine that one day I’ll have 120K followers!!! Back then, I was super happy when the first 10 persons started to read my blog 3 years ago. And now here we are - a big community! I really wonder if the first 10 followers of my blog are still here :-). Well, of course I started blogging as a hobby and after some time my hobby has become my job. That was never my intention, but it has just come up by time and I am so thankful for it. But the expectation that bloggers earn their money by just sitting at home is totally wrong. A company can’t run itself by itself. So no one earns his money by doing nothing. Blogging is not an easygoing job like everyone expects. If I tell you all the details and how a blogger’s day exactly looks like, you would definitely be surprised, but this would now definitely go beyond the scope of this post. Let me know in the comment section whether you are interested in the details, so maybe I can give you an insight in my daily life with blogging as a job in a separate blog post. :-)

"Hayatlarinin büyük bir kismi gezmekle geciyor."

Evet ve hayir. Ayni yerde durup sürekli farkli icerik üretmek oldukca zorlayici olabiliyor. Yeni ve ilgi cekici icerik üretebilmek ve kendini gelistirebilmek acisindan gezmek, aslinda bir bloggerin olmazsa olmazlari arasindadir. Ama yanlis anlasilan nokta su: her gezi bir tatil degil. Hatta bloggerlar icin tatil kavrami fazla lüks. Gezi esnasinda isleri koordine etmesi daha zor, daha fazla isi belki de daha önceden halletmistir veya döndügünde onu bekleyen bir yigin isin oldugu gercegi sürekli canini sikmaktadir. Gezisinde calismadan duramadigi icin blog yazilarini ve Instagram paylasimlarini yetistirmeye calisir, sürekli fotograf cekebilecegi mekan arar ve cekimler yaparlar, fotograflari gece uykusundan feragat ederek editler, sosyal medya hesaplariyla ilgilenmesi gerekir, e-posta kutusundaki biriken maillere dönmeli ve üstelik isletmeye sahip blogger aksaklik durumunda bürokrasi islerine müdahale etmelidir, bu da uzaktan oldukca zor ve can sikicidir. Ama bunlari o kadar benimsemis ve günlük yasamina entegre etmistir ki, size yansitmaz bile, her sey perde arkasinda gerceklesir ve siz sadece "vayy be yine mi tatile, hayat sana güzel valla" dersiniz. Hatta bazi geziler, markalarla fotograf cekimi ve toplanti icin bulusmak icin de olabiliyor. Bu durumda da "tatil"den bahsetmek fazla iyimser olur. Bir bloggerin calismadigi bir an yoktur ki, 7/24 akli isindedir. :-)

"Most of their time they travel around the world."

Yes and no. After a while, it becomes really hard to create new content always at the same places and locations - it becomes boring for oneself and also for the readers. So traveling is not just an activity for bloggers, but a lifestyle. And the point you get wrong is: not every trip is a vacation. By the way, the term 'vacation' is too luxury for a blogger, since they never can fully relax and are real workaholics. While traveling, it is harder to coordinate the work. The blogger has maybe done all the work in addition before the trip or knows that there is waiting a big mountain of work at home. Because of the fact that working has become a lifestyle of the blogger, he or she uses every free minute for working on the blog. Especially taking photos and editing them take a big part of their travels. And since blogging is almost a 24/7 job - one must plan and publish the blog and social media posts, reply all the mails, and in case of a trouble with administrative cases he/she has to interfere, and that’s quite hard from overseas. But since it is a lifestyle, blogging overseas becomes a part of this work and you become professional. While everyone is thinking "wow she’s only traveling", you do all the work behind the scenes. And by the way, some of the trips are collaborations as well, so they are filled with shootings, meetings and stuff. All in all, let’s say that 'vacation' is a wrong term for bloggers. Those are definitely business travels. :-)

"Bloggerlarin cevreleri cok genis."

Dogru. Is geregi sürekli farkli insanlarla tanisiyoruz, birlikte is yapiyoruz. Cekimler, toplantilar, bürokrasi, markalar, sponsorlar, araci sirketler, vs vs vs. Yine davetlerde diger bloggerlarla ve fotografcilarla tanisma imkani, bu gibi seyler. Anlayacaginiz, bloggerin isi klavye basi da olsa, sürekli etrafinda birsürü insan oluyor. Üstüne bir de kendi ekibi geliyor. Ya tek basina dev bir kadrodur, ya da menajeri, fotografcisi ve vergi danismani vs. vardir. Bu da tercih ve is yükü meselesi. Bütün bu bahsettiklerim tabii ki is cevresidir. Ancak bu alandaki insanlar genelde o kadar yaratici ve özgünlerdir ki, is kapsaminda tanisip cok sevdigim, özelde de görüstügüm arkadas haline gelenler de oldu. Isimi sevmemin bir diger yani da bu kesinlikle. Harika insanlar taniyorsunuz (cok da harika olmayanlari da var tabii, ama onlarla yüz göz olmaya gerek yok :D). Calisma ekibinin yani sira, cevreyi genisleten bir de güzel takipcilerim var! Bu konuda öyle sansli hissediyorum ki, gercekten harika bir kitleye sahibim. Ne blogumda, ne Instagram'da hicbir negatiflik yok. Böylesine pozitif ve destekleyici bir kitleye sahip oldugum icin ne kadar tesekkür etsem az. Sizden gelen snapler olsun, geri dönüsler olsun, yaptigim bu iste dogru yolda oldugumu gösteriyor her seferinde ve beni yeniden ve yeniden motive ediyor. Beni aslinda gercekte tanimayan ancak seven ve arkamda olan bunca insanin oldugunu görünce ne bileyim, cok farkli bir sey bu. Iyi ki varsiniz. Hayatinizda kücücük de olsa güzel bir etki birakabiliyorsam ne mutlu, hepinize ayri ayri cok tesekkür ederim! Ilhamim, ilhaminiz olsun.

"Bloggers have a large circle of relations."

True. Due to the fact that we are always working with different partners, our circle grows further and further. Shootings, meetings, bureaucracy, brands, sponsors, etc. Also on events we meet new bloggers and photographers, and so on. So it is true that we have many people around us. Furthermore, some bloggers work with a team of a photographer, a tax advisor and maybe a manager etc. But that’s something every blogger decides on his own. So all in all, a blogger has a large circle of business relations. But those are mostly really creative and authentic persons, so some of my business partners have become really close friends of mine - that is definitely one of the things I love about my job: you meet amazing people (and less amazing ones, but they remain only as business partners :D)! Besides the business circle, there is also my AMAZING community! I really love to get messages from you and meet the people who are following me and my blog. I am feeling blessed, because I have got such an amazing community on my blog and social media accounts that there are only positive vibes! You are my biggest motivation to do what I do. I am happy if I can leave even a small inspiration in your life. Thank you for your great support, I really appreciate every single one!
